New for 2021, Bauer is simplifying their skate lineup just like they did on the player side. With a new fit system and model designation along with a skate packed full of technology, the Bauer Pro INT Goalie Skates are sure to be a great option for goalies looking for that elite level skate.
Skate Fit Profile
Just like Bauer did for their player line, the new Pro skate features a new fit system made up of 3 different widths and depths designed to fit a wider variety of goalies. Fit 1 is a Low Volume, Narrow Width closest aligned to the current Supreme goalie fit profile; fit 2 is a Medium Volume, Medium Width closest aligned to the current goalie Vapor fit profile; Fit 3 is a new fit coming in sizes 7-10.5 for High Volume, Wide Width closest aligned to the player Nexus fit profile.
Boot Construction/Stiffness/Level of Play
The Pro skate is designed for the elite level goalie who wants a stiff boot to both support their foot and provide the best energy transfer and thus the strongest pushes. Bauer uses a 3D Lasted Carbon Curv quarter which gives the boot its lateral stiffness while StanceFlex Pro technology allows the goalie to flex the boot forward with minimal restriction.
Liner/Internal Padding
The liner in the new Pro skate is their LockFit pro with a new Hypersense material. The liner package is designed to keep your foot cool and dry by wicking away excess moisture. Around the ankle, Bauer added their AeroFoam Pro padding to create an ultra-comfortable pad that is also very heat-moldable giving you a great fit in one of the more sensitive spots of the foot.
Tongue
While the tongue may be low profile, thanks to a large pad on it lace-bite is not a concern. On the inside of the tongue, Bauer put a ThermoCore liner which also helps to keep your foot dry by wicking away moisture unlike traditional felt.
Holders & Steel
The Pro skates stick with the Vertexx edge holder and LS5G steel combo as seen on all of their elite level goal skates in recent years. The LS5G steel on the Pro skates does feature a new agility profile which does as the name implies by putting goalies slightly more on the ball of their foot.
Graphics
The Bauer Pro Intermediate Goalie Skates feature a clean understated black and grey design with hints of a vibrant green accent colour. The accent colour is also able to be changed if ordering custom so if green isn't to your taste, Bauer’s got you covered there.
