Skate Fit Profile
Vapor continues to be the best option for skaters with a low fit profile. While not as tight across the forefoot as previous generation Vapors, the fit is definitely snugger than Supreme or Nexus.

Boot Construction/Stiffness/Level of Play
Built for the competitive player, the X Velocity skate features Bauer’s 3D Polycarb composite material. This material is extremely lightweight, thermal-forming, and gives plenty of heel support.

Comfort Edge Padding offers comfort and helps reduce bite from the top of the boot when performing aggressive turns.

Liner/Internal Padding
The X Velocity is designed with a focus on comfort and reduced break-in time. A hydrophobic microfiber liner gives you a soft feel and added comfort. Bauer also added more memory to the skate to really complete the comfort package.

Tongue
The tongue is a 2-piece 48-ounce felt tongue with an exposed injected metatarsal guard. This tongue offers plenty of comfort, flex, and protection during every skate stride.

Holders/Steel
The X Velocity skate is equipped with Tuuk LS1 Black steel. This is an upgraded steel that is coated to provide increased sharpening life with improved edge bite. This allows skaters drop to a shallower hollow to take advantage of increased glide while maintaining the same amount of control.

The holder used on the X Velocity is the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge with quick release trigger system. This holder is the number one holder used by NHL and professional players everywhere.
